All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

Food Shelf

Maple Plain Community Church is the local food shelf for Maple Plain, Independence and Loretto, west Long Lake and south west Medina. As an agent of Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank we supply a standard assortment of food to anyone from our assigned area that qualifies for assistance according to The Emergency Food Assistance Program. The primary requirement is proof of residence. The food shelf is open starting in September, 2008: Monday & Friday from 12:00pm to 2:00 p.m. or Tuesday & Thursday 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Donations to the food shelf are appreciated at any time. The most needed supplies are paper products, cleaning supplies, laundry and dish detergent and personal hygiene products such as soap and shampoo. These items are not usually donated from food campaigns and are expensive to purchase. In addition to the canned foods that are donated we purchase meats, eggs, breads and other staples to provide a well balanced diet for those who are in need.

Love In the Name of Christ

Love, INC(In the Name of Christ) Heartland

Maple Plain Community Church is in collaboration with several other churches in the immediate area to supply the needs of those in need. Love, INC has a central location in Delano on Highway 12 (323 Babcock Blvd. W.) We refer people coming to the church looking for help to them. There are many ministries represented by each of the churches. While we offer the food shelf, others offer a clothing ministry or a furniture ministry. For those who are looking for help we suggest you stop by the Love INC office.

Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan's Purse

On a broader scope throughout the year we collect items to put into boxes for Operation Christmas Child. For the month of June we are collecting: Sunglasses, baseball caps, sun visors, flashlights and batteries. In November all of the items collected will be put together and distributed among shoe boxes to deliver to Samaritan's Purse. Remember that all donations must be able to fit in a shoe box and there can be no liquid items. The donations are collected on a continuing basis in the red and green box in the foyer of the church.
